  • Understanding the mechanisms underlying neuronal trauma and degeneration during and following acute brain injury

"My group is focused on uncovering novel mechanisms of neural circuit injury after TBI.  We bring together a number of histological, cell biological, genetic, microscopic imaging, behavioral, and MRI-based methods to study brain injury, with a particular interest in using or developing those technologies that can translate to human patients with TBI.  The group PI is a physician-scientist 80% in the lab and 20% in the hospital taking care of patients with the acute brain injuries such as TBI."
