Most elementary students have never met a scientist.  We want to change that!

Brain Discovery is an exciting neuroscience outreach program for young students (4th-6th grade), led by Washington University scientists.  Participating classrooms are paired with a "scientist visitor" who visits the class weekly over a six-week period.  Students have an opportunity to explore the brain and nervous system through hands-on experiments and activities, while learning about the scientific process and what it means to be a scientist.  Our volunteers are trained in engaging young students and are eager to share their passion for science!

Schools in the greater St. Louis area are eligible for the program, with priority given to those that serve minorities underrepresented in the sciences.  There is no cost to participate.

We are now accepting requests for the 2017-2018 school year, and we will be offering another homeschool session in the spring.
