In September 2011, Frances Thuet, Senior Computer Systems Manager in the Biology Department, approached Arts & Sciences Computing about creating a new Drupal website for Professor Himadri Pakrasi.
The Pakrasi Lab site became one of the pilot websites for the new pages.wustl.edu service that A&S Computing was in the process of developing. The folks working with the new site had this to say about it:
Pages is an improvement over our old html site because it allows us to create a professional-looking site quickly and with only basic layout skills. This tool enables us to present our lab's work to multiple audiences including prospective students, funding agencies, and the public with a minimum of upkeep on our part. New information such as publications, job opportunities, and grants can be updated in minutes without enlisting professional help.
The Pakrasi Lab uses the Green Tea Latte color scheme, a home slideshow, a site banner on interior pages, tags on pages to group content by research theme, and people listings for lab members. The site also effectively uses inline images to create a custom look within individual pages.
