Ruthie Shaffer

Graduate Student

Ruthie is a first-year graduate student in the Memory & Cognition Lab.  She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2016 with a B.A. in Psychology (concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience) and a minor in Computer Science.  During her time there, she worked with Kathleen McDermott and Roddy Roediger.  She is continuing her stay at Wash U, with a primary interest in exploring how successful memory of various kinds (e.g. episodic, autobiographical) results from the organization of the brain--in particular, regions of the parietal cortex--and how this changes with age. She is a National Science Foundation GRFP recipient and a member of the McDonnell International Scholars Academy.
