Baba Badji is a poet and a translator born in Senegal, West Africa. He holds a BA in English and French from the College of Wooster. He received his MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts.  He is a PhD candidate in Comparative Literature, in the Track for International Writers. He is fluent in French, Wolof, Mende and Diola.  Mr. Badji was selected to participate in the 2014 Translation Slam by the Pen World Voices Festival.  He is the founder of Poetry A Clef, a monthly reading series in Harlem, New York City. Baba is working on two manuscripts of poem and two novellas exploring the notion of being an outsider. He is a soccer player and loves to watch Chelsea Football Club.
