Annual Events & Activities

NEW Graduate Breakfast Seminar

A student only seminar, held on a Friday morning each month. Four to five students will present for 10 to 15 minutes about the general progress of their research and receive feedback from fellow students. We're working to be able to provide breakfast to all participants. More Information can be found HERE.

Our next Breakfast meeting will be on March 10th. If you are interested, Sign up by Mar 3rd.

NEW Graduate Mentoring Program

A student lead initiative to encourage discussion, interaction, and the dissemination of information to students of similar interests but across different years. All students, and all questions are welcome. The GSA hopes that sharing the insights of older students will benefit everyone, not just those starting their PhD or preparing for the job market. More Information can be found HERE.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor or mentee. Please Sign up now.

Annual Economic Graduate Student Conference

Each Fall the GSA hosts the Economic Graduate Student Conference (EGSC). Every year we invite a noteworthy speaker for the Douglas North Honorary Lecture.

Monthly Department Socials

On the last Thursday of every month, second year students reserve space at a local restaurant for department socials. Note, biannual picnics take precedence over monthly department socials.

Biannual Picnics

Each Fall and Spring, second year students lead a cookout at beautiful Shaw Park in Historic Clayton.

Annual Field Trip

A fun activity each Spring just to get you out of the office. Last year we played paint ball!
