N vs. S vs. O: The selective coupling of peptides to a polymer-​coated microelectrode array

Microelectrode arrays have been utilized by our group for several years to monitor the binding event of a biol. system in "real-​time".  The use of a diblock co-​polymer coating over the electrode surface as a support structure for mols. of interest has been crucial to the success of these expts.  In order to better understand the orientation of these mols. on the surface and their influence on binding to a target receptor, selective coupling and characterization of the mol. is needed.  Here in we report the ability to couple peptides directly to the polymer surface with high selectivity and in some cases, without the use of protecting group strategies.
