Political Theory at Washington University is a multidisciplinary scholarly community of faculty and students dedicated to the study of central normative and conceptual issues in political, social, and legal theory and philosophy. Members of the community are primarily drawn from Political Science, Philosophy, Law, and History with substantial involvement from fellow-travelers in English, Anthropology, Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and Social Work.

While embracing a wide diversity of methodological approachs and substantive interests, our particular strengths center on the application of rigorous analytic, historical, and formal methods to the investigation and evaluation of political and social institutions and practices.
