Founded in 2002, the Workshop on Politics, Economics, and Society (WPES) meets on a weekly basis during the academic year to discuss pre-circulated papers in political theory by faculty and graduate students at Washington University and surrounding institutions. Each semester two to three invited speakers also present their work. Visitors in recent years have included Charles Beitz, Daniel Weinstock, John Tomasi, Harry Brighouse, Adrian Vermeule, Robert Goodin, Ira Katznelson, and Philip Pettit.
To receive notices of meetings and copies of the papers prior to each sessions, please send an email to email@example.com.
The political theory workshp is generously provided support by the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences; the Law School; American Culture Studies; Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; Center for New Institutional Social Sciences; and the departments of History, Philosophy, and Political Science.
