Monica Lu

Undergraduate Research Assistant
Monica is a sophomore majoring in Psychological & Brain Sciences and minoring in Biology. She currently works as a research assistant under Laura Hennefield on the Optimism Study. Outside the lab, she tutors elementary school students through Each One Teach One. In the future, Monica hopes to continue her studies in education and/or developmental psychology.

Ishan Satwah

Undergraduate Research Assistant
Ishan is a junior majoring in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology and has been working in the Cognition and Development lab since the fall of his sophomore year. In the lab, Ishan currently works on the Optimism Study and has worked on some studies related to human exclusion as well. Outside of lab, he choreographs for a Bollywood Fusion dance team on campus and cooks meals for underprivileged communities as a member of Campus Kitchen.

Taylor Bird McGuire

Undergraduate Research Assistant
Taylor Bird McGuire is a senior from Louisville, Kentucky majoring in Psychology and minoring in French and Design. In the lab, she works in numerous roles on studies relating to the cognitive development of children.

Shreya Sodhi

Undergraduate Research Assistant
Shreya is a sophomore majoring in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology with a minor in Children's Studies. She is currently working as a research assistant under Lab Manager Alexandra Katsarelis and Dr. Markson on a study that looks at the effects of diversity in books on children. Shreya hopes to attend graduate school to pursue developmental psychology or education.

Mia Shoshany

Undergraduate Research Assistant
Mia Shoshany is a sophomore majoring in Psychological and Brain Sciences with a minor in Legal Studies. She is currently working as a research assistant under Laura Hennefield for the Optimism Study and is also involved with a crisis hotline off campus. Mia hopes to attend graduate school in the future to study developmental or clinical psychology.

Amanda Marks

Undergraduate Research Assistant
Amanda is a junior at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology. As a research assistant, she assists in running experiments, scheduling participants, and coding. She has recently started helping with a study that looks at how children learn from and trust different people, and whether the person’s background affects the child’s learning.

Chloe Tinagero

Undergraduate Research Assistant
Chloe Tinagero is a sophomore majoring in Pyschology and Marketing. She is currently working as an RA on The Optimism Study under PostDoc Laura Hennefield. Outside of class, Chloe is involved with Reflections and Student Tour Leaders and is on the Executive Branch for Delta Gamma Fraternity. A native Bostonian, she enjoys skiing, movies and the occasional crossword puzzle.

Laura Talpey

Undergraduate Research Assistant
Laura is a senior majoring in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology with a minor in Math. She is interested in how children learn language and concepts and hopes to attend graduate school in Developmental or Educational Psychology.
